A little information about EXYZT: for open media studio

EXYZT is a group of people based out of Paris, France. Beginning with only five alternative architect designers, the five has grown into a community of people who share their knowledge and abilities around the world. Through their work, they like to combine architecture with different medias like music videos, photographs, and graphic design, leaving the space open to freedom, interaction and spontaneity. Their concepts revolve around producing “open source architecture” by collaborating with people to form free spaces that connect people with their environments. What is great about the spaces that they choose, is the fact that these spaces are not regulated by real-estate and are set at locations like wastelands, abandoned lots, and at spaces offered at events and festivals. They multiply their projects, translating media into physical space. Their work can be seen on their website, www.exyzt.org. Pretty neat stuff. Some of my favorite pieces include Extramundi, which was a show that dealt with the link between the artist’s production space and the exhibition, meaning that the exhibition space mirrored the production space. Showing how creative processes translated into architectual terms and allowing viewers to interact with the artistic activity that was created. Two other projects that caught my eye were EKTOP and their most recent, Social Club.      ”Films are the  memories to our constructions.”
